Labiaplasty is a delicate, yet powerful procedure designed to reduce and reshape the labia for improved comfort, confidence, and overall well-being. Whether caused by childbirth, aging, or natural anatomy, enlarged or asymmetrical labia can lead to irritation, discomfort during physical activity, self-consciousness, or intimacy concerns. At VedaNu Wellness, we offer this intimate procedure in a safe, discreet, and supportive environment where your comfort is our priority.
Also known as labial reduction or vulvar surgery, labiaplasty removes excess tissue from the labia minora (inner lips) or labia majora (outer lips), helping to restore both function and appearance. Our skilled surgical team will work with you to understand your goals and customize your treatment for natural-looking, confidence-boosting results.
The labia are folds of skin that protect the vaginal and urinary openings. While it’s completely natural for labia to vary in size, shape, and symmetry, some women experience discomfort—whether physical or emotional—due to excess tissue. Common symptoms may include rubbing or irritation with tight clothing, pain during intimacy, hygiene difficulties, or visible bulging in certain garments.
Labiaplasty is a personalized procedure that addresses these concerns by reshaping and reducing the labial tissue while preserving natural sensation. It’s not about meeting a “standard” appearance—it’s about what feels right and comfortable for you. For many women, labiaplasty is life-changing, restoring both body confidence and physical comfort.
Labiaplasty is a highly personalized procedure that empowers women to feel more comfortable and confident in their own bodies. Elongated or asymmetrical labia can lead to discomfort from friction during everyday activities such as sitting, cycling, exercise, or intimacy—and may also cause irritation when wearing tight clothing or swimwear. Beyond physical relief, labiaplasty offers emotional and aesthetic benefits that can truly improve quality of life.

At VedaNu Wellness, we take time to walk you through each step of the process, so you feel informed, comfortable, and confident heading into surgery.
Labiaplasty is typically a quick, outpatient procedure that lasts about an hour. You’ll be comfortably sedated with either general anesthesia or IV sedation, depending on your needs and preferences.
There are two main techniques your surgeon may use—both designed to reduce excess labial tissue while preserving natural function and sensitivity:
Trim Labiaplasty
This approach removes excess tissue along the outer edge of the labia minora. It’s ideal for patients with protruding or uneven labial edges and can help create a more balanced, symmetrical appearance. Trim labiaplasty is also a popular option for those concerned about darker pigmentation at the edge of the labia, as it removes the discolored tissue and results in a smoother, more uniform look.
Wedge Labiaplasty
This method involves removing a small, V-shaped “wedge” of tissue from the inner portion of the labia minora. The incision is carefully placed and hidden within the natural folds of the labia, preserving the outer edge. This technique helps maintain the natural contour, color, and texture of the labia while reducing size and discomfort. It’s often preferred by patients looking for a subtle, internal refinement.
Labiaplasty is typically performed as an outpatient procedure, which means you’ll return home the same day. We recommend resting for the first 2–3 days with your hips elevated and a soft pillow under your buttocks to reduce swelling. Applying a padded ice pack to the area (without placing ice directly on the skin) can help minimize bruising and discomfort.
You’ll be prescribed pain medication to ease any soreness in the first few days. As anesthesia wears off, you may feel tired—so plan to rest and avoid driving or making important decisions while on medication. Your body needs time and care to heal properly.
Post-Op Hygiene
Cleanliness is key to a smooth recovery. Use unscented baby wipes to gently pat the area clean after using the restroom—never wipe. You may begin showering on day three post-op, but don’t worry if the water turns slightly red; this is typically just dried blood from healing incisions.
Keep the area clean and dry at all times. Avoid applying creams or scar ointments unless directed by your provider, as these may cause irritation. You’ll also be given antibiotics to prevent infection, and most patients receive a prescription for Diflucan to prevent yeast infections during the healing process.
As You Heal
Some swelling, itching, and discoloration is normal for the first few weeks. The area may appear uneven or bumpy as it heals—this is temporary. We recommend avoiding pools, hot tubs, ocean water, tampons, strenuous activity, and sexual intercourse for six weeks following surgery.
Total healing typically takes 6 to 8 weeks. Throughout this time, our team will schedule regular follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and ensure everything is healing as expected. If you ever have questions or concerns, we’re just a phone call away.
